A beautifully crisp day for our UPK friends to visit Roanoke Orchard in Stafford! #PrideInTheHive
We can't help but be impressed by the laser focus of Miss Gales' readers this morning! #PrideInTheHive
Our advocate at the table…
This is a component of our District that few are able to see: capital project planning. PCS is fortunate to have the best person at the table collaborating with architects and engineers on its upcoming project. As the District’s Director of Facilities, Dave Wolfanger is committed to ensuring our buildings and grounds meet the needs of our students, and staff. As a parent of a student, and resident of the community, he understands the importance of his efforts.
We are fortunate to have THE BEST Director of Facilities. He has a vested interest in the success of this District.
Best facilities, best team!
Daryl McLaughlin
Superintendent of Schools
Stand Up members want you to know "Don't Fall for the Stigma." Both Jr. High and High School club members supported the annual Suicide Prevention Walk, sponsored by the Wyoming County Suicide Prevention Coalition, last night in Perry. Club members were joined by advisors Shawna Smith and Jess Hurd, along with teachers, students, parents, and Wyoming County residents. It was great to see our students working to end the stigma surrounding mental health! #PrideInTheHive

What a day! A group of JH/HS students visited the Genesee County Fairgrounds in Batavia for the 4th annual GLOW with Your Hands event. Hundreds of students from throughout the region learned more about careers in agriculture, manufacturing, and skilled trades thanks to the over 60 vendors, businesses, and guest speakers that were on hand today. It was an incredible experience for our students! #PrideInTheHive
A reminder that UPK-6 School Photo Day is Wednesday, Oct. 5. Order forms will go home with students. Additional forms can be found in the PES Main Office or below.
As we continue to bring special services back to our facilities to better support our students and families, a PAES Lab (Practical Assessment Exploration System) will soon be available at the High School.
Mrs. James, Mrs. Cowie, and Miss McCarthy are currently being trained in the work development lab. This new opportunity will help students explore career interests, use real tools, develop proper work behavior, and much more. It will also allow school personnel to assess students’ competitive-work potential and interest level. A classroom is being converted into a simulated work environment that will help students learn, grow, explore, and prepare for the workforce. #PrideInTheHive

Autumn is upon us. Temperatures are dipping. What should we do in physical education? Swim, of course. Mr. Allen and his students are taking advantage of the warm water in the Natatorium.
For the 21st year, Perry Rotary has generously donated a new dictionary to each third grader at PES. Thank you to Rotarians Jeff and Nancy Fitch and Justin Dueppengiesser, Executive Director of the Wyoming County Business Education Council, for visiting with students this morning to explain the importance of service organizations like Perry Rotary. #PrideInTheHive
PCS students, parents, and families now have access to the Say Something app. Developed by Sandy Hook Promise, this anonymous reporting system is available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Through the app, students and families can immediately reach highly-skilled counselors who are trained to respond to tips related to mental health support, threats of violence, abuse, and more. It is also a resource where anonymous tips can be made if someone has a concern pertaining to the health, welfare, and safety of our buildings, students, families, school personnel, and visitors. App links can now be found on our website homepage, on student Chromebooks, and below this message.
Over the next several days, our Counseling Department team members will be visiting students in grades 6-12 to explain the app and the importance of Say Something. An app geared specifically toward elementary students is in development. Again, this app is completely free and anonymous.
Our high school students have been introduced to the Say Something initiative, over the last several years, through presentations by the High School Stand Up Club. Say Something is a resource used in keeping schools safe by teaching students to recognize warning signs that someone is at risk of harming themselves and/or others. If they see something, students are encouraged to tell a trusted adult. Now, “saying something” is made easier than ever through this anonymous reporting system.

We are thrilled to announce the new app for Perry CSD! The mobile app was created to help students, parents, and community members know what is happening on campus from their phones. On the app, you can read the latest announcements, locate staff contact information, review upcoming events, and find important documents. The Perry CSD app is available to download free from the Apple App Store or the Google Play store. #PrideInTheHive
Yesterday was TV Tuesday for "Start with Hello Week" and our HS teachers won the day. #PrideInTheHive #StartWithHelloWeek
It’s all about providing our students with the tools they need to be successful. Ms. Warner’s students are loving these calming elements in the sensory room. #PrideInTheHive
Students from Mr. Shuskey's Aquatic Science course spent the morning out on Silver Lake taking water, sediment, plankton, and plant samples which they will be analyzing in class over the next few weeks.
Dots, dots everywhere! Today is International Dot Day, which centers around Peter H. Reynold’s book “The Dot” and celebrates children’s creativity. UPK-3 students are reading the book with Mr. Grierson in the art room and then creating their own masterpieces – all from the start of one small dot! #PrideInTheHive
Our younger students view the “big kids” as role models, that’s why we absolutely love to see interaction like this. A great job by Madison and Shea, both 8th graders, who spent time this morning during a study hall period helping out in our UPK classrooms! #PrideInTheHive
Tomorrow (Thursday) is International Dot Day! UPK-3 students will be reading the book “The Dot” by Peter H. Reynolds in art classes before creating their own dot-inspired artwork. Students and staff are encouraged to join the celebration by wearing dots tomorrow. This is one of Mrs. Adolf’s favorite days of the school year and, well, her friends at PCS are sending some dot-love her way! #PrideInTheHive #PCSDfamily
